Snow Leopard Expedition

Venture deep into the rugged Trans-Himalayas of Ladakh on a rare journey in search of the elusive snow leopard. Based at the exclusive LUNGMĀR Camp, this immersive experience blends world-class wildlife tracking with Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage—offering photographers and adventurers a chance to witness one of nature’s most majestic big cats in its wild mountain realm. Every step supports vital conservation efforts in this remote, breathtaking landscape.

"In the silence of Ladakh’s high valleys, where few have wandered and fewer still have seen, the wild reveals itself
—not loudly, but to those patient enough to listen."

In the remote folds of Ladakh’s Trans-Himalayan wilderness—where jagged peaks meet endless skies—lies one of Earth’s last truly wild frontiers. It is here, in this stark, soul-stirring landscape, that the elusive snow leopard leaves its silent signature in the snow. And it is here that your journey begins.

Our Snow Leopard Expedition is not just a quest to see a rare and magnificent big cat. It is an immersion—into high-altitude life, ancient mountain culture, and a conservation story that gives deeper meaning to every sighting and every step.

After a vibrant start in New Delhi, we fly across the spine of the Himalayas into Leh, where you’ll adjust gently to altitude and explore centuries-old monasteries perched above mountain valleys. Then we journey deeper still, into snow leopard territory, settling into the comfort and seclusion of LUNGMĀR Camp—a solar-powered outpost with access to one of the highest concentrations of snow leopards on the planet.

Here, expert trackers rise before dawn to read the land—searching ridgelines, listening for clues, guiding us to where the snow leopard may emerge, silently and spectacularly, against a canvas of snow and stone. Every day is shaped by possibility: long-lens moments of wildness, quiet insights into conservation from your expedition leader, and evenings by the fire under galaxies of stars.

This is a journey powered not just by solar panels, but by purpose. Your presence here directly supports the High Asia Habitat Fund, a pioneering conservation initiative protecting species and sustaining local communities across this fragile region.

For the wildlife photographer, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime canvas. For the curious traveler, it’s a moment of stillness in a world that rarely pauses. And for all who make the journey, it’s a rare privilege: to witness one of nature’s most elusive creatures—and to leave the mountains better than you found them.
